SleepyFans

SleepyFans emerged around mid-2008 under gumjim, operating as a small, extremely fast English scanlation project. Inside Scanlation documented its coverage of Naruto, Bleach and Bakuman and its use of MangaHelpers translations and external raw providers. Its releases often appeared within hours of raw scans becoming available, although speed attracted criticism concerning editing and translation quality. SleepyFans also figured in a documented July 2008 dispute with Binktopia over raw distribution. In January 2011 the group announced that it could no longer maintain weekly releases.
