Activity points

Earning

Base values come from the live point_rules table (what admin edits under Manage Points). Confirm your email before positive awards land - unactivated accounts browse but do not earn.

• News comments and forum replies use a short cooldown (~60s) so spam does not farm points.
• Activation bonus is awarded once when you confirm email.
• Jukebox playlist load awards go to the owner the first time each other member loads the mix.

Ranks

Your public rank label is the highest tier whose min_points threshold you still meet based on your current activity balance (not lifetime earned). Forum post count does not affect rank. Spending unlocks can drop you below a tier floor.

Spending & unlocks

Some member features cost points (charged at the advertised price on that item). Costs are logged as negative activity and are not affected by ×2 / ×N events.

• Where episode type is linked, filler / mixed items may auto-discount from a canon base price (floor applies unless the row is marked as a fixed low sale price).
• A separate activity threshold may gate whether a feature shelf is visible yet - that is not the same number as the unlock price.
• Article submission requires a minimum balance (currently around 50 pts) unless you are a trusted role.

Events (double points, etc.)

Staff can start a timed multiplier from Manage Points. While active, every positive award that goes through the central award helper is multiplied. Canceling an event expires it immediately. Default when nothing is running: 1×.
