Jadeite escalates from energy harvesting to a direct attempt to eliminate Sailor Moon, Mercury and Mars at once. By this point the three Guardians can coordinate instead of surviving separately, and the trap fails.

The important result is organizational. Jadeite does not simply lose another monster. He proves to Beryl that his entire approach has failed to stop the Guardians from multiplying, and the Dark Kingdom moves on without him.

Sailor Moon R · Episode 74 · Result: Chibiusa and the Guardians survive the trap
Rubeus draws the Guardians into his ship and tries to remove the people protecting Chibiusa in one move. The fight pushes Sailor Moon and the Inner Guardians into a battlefield controlled almost entirely by the enemy.

What matters is less the finishing attack than the season's new team dynamic. Chibiusa begins R as a secretive child the others barely understand; by the Rubeus confrontation, protecting her has become something the entire group will walk into a trap to do.

R's finale matters because the Silver Crystal is no longer only Usagi's inherited miracle. The future Princess has her own relationship to that power, and the battle makes Chibiusa's place in the family impossible to dismiss as a temporary time-travel complication.
Super Sailor Moon vs. Mistress 9 & Pharaoh 90

Mistress 9 uses Hotaru's body as Pharaoh 90's path into the world while the Guardians' worst predictions about Sailor Saturn appear to be coming true.
Usagi refuses the clean logic of sacrificing Hotaru, even when the Outer Guardians believe that choice may doom everyone.
The Breakdown
The climax works because the argument of the whole season becomes physical. Saturn enters the threat rather than destroying the innocent person carrying it, Pluto seals the way behind Pharaoh 90, and Usagi reaches for Super Sailor Moon without the Grail because refusing to give up on Hotaru has become the point of the fight.

SuperS has spent an entire season looking inside other people's dreams. The finale turns that theme back on Nehelenia: her tragedy is not that she has no desire of her own, but that fear of change has made preserving herself more important than anyone else's future.
The Sailor Guardians vs. Galaxia Before Usagi Stands Alone

Before Sailor Moon reaches the final emotional confrontation with Galaxia, the surrounding Guardians are systematically removed through the Star Seed conflict.
The Breakdown
Like the DD Girls sequence in Season 1, the final season isolates Usagi by taking away the people who usually make the battle a team effort. The difference is scale: this time the losses include Guardians from beyond the original Inner team and make the galaxy itself feel emptied out around her.
