Before Sailor Moon reaches the final emotional confrontation with Galaxia, the surrounding Guardians are systematically removed through the Star Seed conflict.
The Breakdown
Like the DD Girls sequence in Season 1, the final season isolates Usagi by taking away the people who usually make the battle a team effort. The difference is scale: this time the losses include Guardians from beyond the original Inner team and make the galaxy itself feel emptied out around her.
