Rakshata is the relaxed, pipe-smoking engineer responsible for some of the Black Knights' most important Knightmare technology. She helped develop the Guren and its Radiation Wave system, giving Kallen a machine capable of challenging Britannia's best prototypes instead of simply surviving them. Rakshata rarely behaves like somebody working in the middle of a revolution. She lounges, jokes and watches other people panic while quietly solving problems that can change the balance of a battle. Her professional rivalry with Lloyd Asplund adds another layer of fun because both engineers are fascinated by machines even when they are building them for opposite sides. Rakshata is not a political ideologue in the way Zero or Kallen can be. She is the person making sure the rebellion has hardware worthy of its ambitions.

'Allies of Justice' is propaganda, but effective propaganda. By R2 the organization has grown far beyond a Japanese insurgency and becomes the military core of an international political order.
The Black Knights work because Zero delegates the parts of rebellion he cannot personally control. Tohdoh and the Holy Swords give the organization battlefield discipline, Ohgi keeps the Japanese resistance connected to ordinary people, Diethard turns victories into public narrative, and Rakshata keeps the machines competitive. Zero supplies the impossible plans; everyone else turns them into an army.
