Konan grew up in the Hidden Rain beside Yahiko and Nagato, survived the wars that destroyed their childhood and helped create the original Akatsuki as a movement for peace. By the time Naruto meets her, that dream has hardened into loyalty to Pain. Konan can turn her body into sheets of paper, forming wings, weapons, clones and explosive traps while moving with an eerie calm that earned her the title of Angel among Amegakure's people. After Nagato dies, she leaves the Akatsuki and entrusts his hope for peace to Naruto. Obito comes for Nagato's Rinnegan anyway. Konan meets him with a trap built from hundreds of billions of explosive tags, one final demonstration that her quiet presence was never the same thing as weakness.

The Breakdown
Obito survived the continuous explosion by sacrificing his left Sharingan to cast Izanagi, rewriting his death in real time. He materialized behind Konan, fatally piercing her and extracting Nagato's resting location.
