Sakura returns from the time skip as Tsunade's apprentice and one of the Hidden Leaf's most capable young medical ninja. Her precise chakra control now powers both advanced healing and the monstrous punches she learned from the Fifth Hokage, making the difference from Part I immediately obvious. The rescue of Gaara gives Sakura her first major showcase when she creates an antidote to Sasori's poison and fights beside Chiyo against the puppet master himself. She remains emotionally tied to both Naruto and Sasuke, sometimes making painful decisions because she believes she is protecting one from the other. By the war, Sakura is no longer trying to prove she belongs behind her teammates. She is fighting beside them as a fully realized member of Team 7.
